Chateau Margaux Margaux Bordeaux 1975
9.25 stars
18 Dec 2021

I served it double blind to my friend. Despite being aged for 46 years already, my first impression was that the wine should still age further for at least another decade before it reached it’s full maturity. My friend was able to identify it as a Chateau Margaux, as the bouquet was filled with cedar and forest floor, while the palate was the typical Chateau Margaux softness plus some dark chocolates and leathery tastes. Content wasn’t quite ready as I have stated. I really would prefer to age it for another decade to tone down a bit of harshness and dry tannins in the body.
