Coutet is derived frim the Gascon’s word for knife. This is with relation to the wine’s fresh and crisp palate, which is their signature style. Also I learned that the climatic profile of 2010 vintage is similar to 1962, which was an outstanding vintage in Sauternes.
The nose was lively with citrus fruits, apricot, vanilla, and a tinge of honey. The palate was zesty, rich and creamy, but still had a sharp freshness to it that doesn’t make the wine too cloying. Perfect way to end a meal with!
