Ducru Beaucaillou St Julien 1982
28 August 2019
In my drinking career, I have drank at least half a dozen bottles of Ducru Beaucaillou 1982, and not once I was impressed with the content. This bottle was an ex-chateau stock, so the provenance was definitely pristine. I didn’t quite enjoy the nose, earthy tone mixed with rotten white cabbage was the signature of this bottle. Body was predictably wines in the 80s, felt alcoholic with middle length finishing, wasn’t an impressive content at all. Totally paled right next to the Cheval Blanc 98 being served.
