Super Tuscans!
Superstars that Changed Italian wines

Ciao! Salve!
Want to get enamored with some Italian romance? Experience sensuality with the wines of Italy! You will be singing with amore (love) just with a sip of our Italian beauty!
Italy used to be known as the place to get cheap inexpensive wines that was sure to not really impress anyone but rather just to drink and get drunk. After World War II, Chianti became one of the most famous cheap wines that you can purchase. But they tasted so bad that it gave them such a bad name, and thus gave Italy such a bad name. Finally, a group of winemakers decided that enough was enough, they could make better wines that could rival the famous French Bordeaux.

Some rebellious winemakers decided to plant international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. But because this was not allowed in the rules of Italy, they were declassified into table wines. But guess what! They started becoming very popular because they were damn good! They were some of the most expensive table wines you could find before. Up till today, there are considered as the top wines in Italy. Here are some of my recommended wines you must try in your lifetime!
 Petrus of Italy!
Masseto Tenuta dell’Ornellaia 2001

So Damn Awesome!
Left Every Drinkers Speechless!
Wine of the day, everyone in the room voted this as Rightfully Petrus of Italy!
The Petrus of Italy, period.
This 100% merlot made wine will blow any merlot based wines out of earth. Petrus is not 100% merlot based, so it may not be fair to do a 1-to-1 comparison with Masseto, but I just could not think of a wine that’s close to this awesome Italian wine. The purity, the concentration and elegance of thus wine is virtually unmatched by any merlot based wines. If there is one wine that you want to try produced in Italy, Masseto shall be it!

 Tuscan Superstar Solaia!
Marchesi Antinori Solaia Toscana IGT 1997

Strong Grip!
Nose was quite elegant with no choking overpowered super Tuscan style. The challenge was the palate, apart from very approachable fruits, the wine had too much big style tannins, and the tannins were like F1 car tyre, extremely strong grip. I must have applied emergency brake a couple of times tonight! Bazaar Super Tuscan!
